Supporting our local communities

Over time considerable research has been done on what motivates philanthropy. The commonality in all this research seems to be the need to make a difference or support something one feels strongly about. Although corporate philanthropy may sometimes be focused on less altruistic reasons, we feel that our small part to support non-profit programs and organizations can show larger companies that giving back to the community is important in the long term.

We have supported various non-profits through the years with our time and marketing expertise so that they can continue to work in our communities.

California Music Center

California Music Center

San Francisco based California Music Center was created to nurture the talents and careers of young musicians from around the world. They assist with professional and performance skills development, encourage community involvement, provide performance opportunities and monetary support. The annual Klein International String Competition honors the memory of a virtuoso chamber musician and master cello teacher who served as the primary exemplar of his own convictions about musical education. Irving M. Klein spent a lifetime in pursuit of excellence in musical performance, and he possessed a rare gift for discerning and supporting the highest motivations in others, so that wherever he lived he was continually at the growing center of a flourishing musical community.

Elf Foundation

A Hollywood-based organization that builds “Rooms of Magic” — private entertainment theaters — for children’s hospitals so that kids receiving medical treatment and chemotherapy can watch movies and spend time with family and friends. As a result of this foundation, many home theater and audio manufacturers have donated thousands of dollars worth of equipment and installation services to make these theaters possible.


Peninsula Symphony

The Peninsula Symphony is an all volunteer community orchestra under the direction of Mitchell Sardou Klein. Its mission is to enrich the community with high quality musical presentations at modest prices, to inspire greater awareness of and appreciation for music, and to promote music education by supporting the Peninsula Youth Orchestra.

In 2001, the CCOF Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, was created to expand CCOF's education and outreach activities. The mission of the CCOF Foundation is to protect the environment and enhance human health by promoting the production and consumption of nutritious organic food. The CCOF Foundation's programs aim to:

  • support organic farmers' efforts to conserve biodiversity.
  • accelerate the transition to organic agriculture.
  • educate consumers about the benefits of organic food and farming.

Play for a Cure was started to raise money for breast cancer research by sponsoring a yearly tennis fundraiser in Los Gatos.
